Privacy Policy for The Big Afternoon Show

Last Updated: August 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how The Big Afternoon Show (“the Show”), hosted by Darren Rogers (pseudonym for Darren Perrin), handles information related to listeners and radio stations syndicating the Show. As a sole trader based in England and Wales, we’re committed to protecting your privacy and complying with UK data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. We Don’t Collect Personal Data

  • No Data Collection: The Show does not collect, store, or process personal data (e.g., names, emails, phone numbers, or IP addresses) from listeners or stations, except for messages you voluntarily send us (see Section 2).

  • Weekly Message Purge: Any messages received (e.g., via WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, or email) are deleted weekly, typically on Sundays, to ensure no personal data is retained.

2. Listener Interactions

  • How You Interact: Listeners can contact the Show via WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, phone calls, or email for interactions like song requests or quiz participation. All interactions, such as voice messages, are pre-recorded before airing.

  • Use of Your Content: If you submit content (e.g., voice messages or texts), we may ask your permission to use it on the Show or for promotion. We don’t store your personal details beyond what’s needed to use your submission, and all messages are deleted weekly.

  • Your Responsibility: Please ensure your submissions are appropriate. We don’t use offensive or inappropriate content.

3. Radio Stations

  • Syndication Agreements: Radio stations syndicating the Show may provide contact details (e.g., email or WhatsApp) for operational purposes. We only use these details to manage the syndication relationship and delete them weekly, unless needed for ongoing agreements.

  • No Listener Data Shared: We don’t share any listener data with stations, as we don’t collect it.

4. Third Parties

  • No Data Sharing: We don’t share any personal data with third parties, as we don’t collect it.

  • Streaming Platforms: The Show is streamed through platforms or mount points managed by syndicating stations. Any data collected by these platforms is subject to their privacy policies, not ours.

5. Your Rights

  • Under UK data protection laws, you have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Since we don’t collect or store personal data, there’s no data for us to provide or delete beyond the weekly message purge. If you have concerns, contact us (see Section 7).

6. Changes to This Policy

  • We may update this Privacy Policy as needed. Changes will be posted on our website ([insert website URL, if applicable]) and, where possible, shared with syndicating stations via email. Continued interaction with the Show means you accept the updated policy.

7. Contact Us

  • If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us via WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, or email: studio@bigafternoonshow.co.uk. We’ll respond as soon as possible.

8. Governing Law

  • This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales, in line with UK data protection regulations.
